Autumn Nights Mystery Quilt Along β Week 1
Let’s Sew the Autumn Star Blocks
Welcome to Week 1 of the Autumn Nights Mystery Quilt Along. We’re starting with a trio of Autumn Star Blocks that set a warm and inviting tone for the rest of the quilt. These classic stars are made with simple half square triangles and square units, perfect for easing into the project.
Each block uses a different print, and the clean layout lets your favorite fall fabrics shine. These blocks are great for building accuracy and rhythm as we head into the rest of the quilt.
Tips for Success
- Mark and sew with care. Draw your diagonal lines clearly and sew directly on the line for crisp half square triangle points.
- Press thoughtfully. Press your seams as directed in the pattern to help pieces align properly as you assemble the blocks.
- Double check your trimming. Squaring your units to size before final assembly will make the finished blocks look tidy and even.
When finished, each block should measure 7 1/2" x 7 1/2" (unfinished). You’ll make one from each of the three featured prints.
