Autumn Nights Mystery Quilt Along – Week 3

Let’s Sew the Harvest Pumpkin Blocks

This week, we’re adding a touch of autumn abundance with the Harvest Pumpkin Blocks. These festive pumpkins are built from strips and squares and finished with soft corners and a pieced stem.

Each pumpkin features a wide center strip with coordinating side sections that give the block its rounded shape. The layout is simple, but the finished look is full of charm.

Tips for Success

  • Fold and crease your center strips. Aligning your center marks makes it easier to build balanced pumpkins with neat proportions.
  • Layer your corners carefully. You’ll be using the stitch-and-flip method on the corners, so double check placement before trimming.
  • Trim after sewing. The pumpkin units are designed to be trimmed to size after construction. Take your time and use a square ruler for clean results.

Each finished block should measure 7 1/2" x 8 1/2" (unfinished). You’ll make three total using different prints.
