Cherry Tree Lane Panel Quilt Sew-Along: Getting Ready

There is something special about beginning a new quilt together, and we are so glad you are here for the Cherry Tree Lane Panel Quilt Sew-Along.

This quilt is filled with charming details, from sweet houses and street lamps to kites and a beautiful central panel that brings the whole story together. Over the next four weeks, we will take this project step by step so you can feel confident from your first cut to your final stitch.


What We Are Making

The Cherry Tree Lane Panel Quilt finishes at approximately 70 1/2 inches by 90 inches and is designed to highlight a beautiful story panel surrounded by pieced blocks that build a full neighborhood scene .

Each section of the quilt adds a new layer to the story, making this a meaningful project to sew and share.

Supplies You Will Need

To get started, gather your materials so you are ready for Week 1.

You will need:

  • Cherry Tree Lane Panel
  • Fat Quarter Bundle from the A Spoonful of Sugar collection
  • Additional fabric for background, binding, and backing

You may also want:

  • Batting and backing fabric
  • Basic quilting tools such as a rotary cutter, ruler, and sewing machine

A Few Helpful Tips Before You Begin

Before we begin sewing, take a little time to prepare your space and materials.

Read through the pattern instructions so you understand how the quilt comes together. This pattern uses standard quilting techniques such as stitch and flip, half square triangles, and careful cutting and labeling .

Organizing your fabric pieces as you cut them will make each step feel much smoother. Labeling sections ahead of time can save you time later and help you stay on track.
