Cherry Tree Lane Quilt-Along: Week 1

You will:

• Cut your fabrics
• Organize and label your pieces
• Prepare your panel

This step sets the foundation for your entire quilt, and it will make a big difference as you move forward.

Preparing Your Panel

Start by locating your panel and taking a moment to center the design before cutting.

You will be trimming your panel to size, so it is important to check placement carefully before making that first cut. If your design does not extend fully to the edge, you can add coping strips before trimming so everything fits correctly.

Cutting and Organizing Your Fabrics

This quilt includes a variety of pieces, so staying organized will make the process much more enjoyable.

As you cut your fabrics, keep similar pieces grouped together and label them as you go. This will help you move into sewing without needing to stop and sort later.
