Get Ready for the Boo To You Mystery Quilt Along!

The countdown is on! The Boo To You Mystery Quilt Along begins on Monday, August 3, and I am so excited to be sewing along with Fat Quarter Shop and all of you.

One of my favorite things about a mystery quilt is watching the design unfold one block at a time. Each week brings a new surprise, and by the end of the Quilt Along you'll have a fun Halloween quilt to enjoy for seasons to come.

For my version of the quilt, I'll be sewing with a selection of Hush Hush 5 prints, including my Foraging design, paired with Riley Blake Basics. I can't wait to watch the mystery unfold with these fabrics.

Before we begin, take a little time to gather your fabrics, organize your sewing space, and get everything ready for the first mystery release.

What to Expect

The Boo To You Mystery Quilt Along runs for four weeks.

Each Monday, Fat Quarter Shop will release a new mystery block pattern, followed by a tutorial on their YouTube channel every Tuesday. One of the best parts of a mystery quilt is the surprise, so let's all help keep the mystery alive by waiting until each week's block has officially been released before sharing photos.

Here's the schedule:

• Week 3: Peek-A-Boo Bestie Block
• Week 4: Finishing the Quilt

Gather Your Supplies

Before the Quilt Along begins, make sure you have:

• Your fabric pulled and ready to sew
• Rotary cutter and ruler
• Sewing machine and coordinating thread
• An iron and pressing surface
• A small basket or project bin to keep everything together throughout the month

Having your supplies organized before the first block is released makes it easy to jump right in each week.

A Helpful Tip Before You Begin

Take a photo of your fabric pull before you start cutting. It's always fun to look back at your original fabric choices once the mystery has been revealed, and it's a wonderful way to document your quilting journey.
