Mary Poppins Storybag Felt Panel Sew Along
Week 1: Cutting and Preparing Your Pieces
Welcome to Week 1 of the Mary Poppins Storybag Felt Panel Sew Along.
This week is all about preparing your felt characters and accessories. Taking your time here will set you up for a smooth and enjoyable experience in the weeks ahead.
Before you begin, be sure to watch the Week 1 video where I walk you through the cutting process and share a few helpful tips.

Week 1 Focus
This week you will:
- Carefully cut out all felt characters and accessories
- Organize pieces by character or scene
- Set aside any pieces you plan to embellish next week
When cutting small shapes, use small sharp scissors and rotate the felt as you cut rather than turning your scissors. This helps curves stay smooth and clean.
As you finish cutting, group pieces together in small stacks or labeled bags. Keeping everything organized now will make Week 2 much easier.

A Simple Tip for Success
If you are unsure whether to cut directly on the line or slightly inside, stay right on the printed cut line. Clean cutting makes your finished pieces look polished and professional.
Take your time. There is no rush. This step is foundational.
