Spoolful of Charm Quilt Along: Getting Ready
Welcome to the Spoolful of Charm Quilt Along. I am so glad you will be sewing with me. This four week QAL is a simple and joyful project that brings together charm squares, fussy cutting, and the sweetest framed spool blocks. Whether you are brand new to quilting or you have sewn for years, this QAL is designed to be encouraging, relaxing, and fun.
Before we begin on January 7, this is the perfect time to gather everything you need so you feel prepared and ready to sew with confidence.
Materials You Will Need
The Spoolful of Charm Quilt is made with the Thimbelina fabric collection. You can follow the exact fabrics shown or choose your own palette. The guide provides a full list of fabric requirements, including:
- Thimbelina Storybook Panel (used for the fussy cut centers)
• Ten inch squares from the Thimbelina collection
• Additional prints for borders and background
• Binding fabric
• Backing fabric
• Batting
Take a moment to review the visual fabric list shown in the guide on page 3 so you can gather everything you plan to use. The panel print shown in the guide provides charming storybook pictures that make each spool block special.
About the Quilt Along Schedule

Each week you will receive a blog post, an email, and inspiration inside our Facebook Group so you always know exactly what to do next.
Before We Begin
Spend a little time this week choosing your fabrics, looking at the panel artwork, and deciding which illustrations you want to feature in your spool blocks. Fussy cutting is one of the highlights of this quilt, and it adds a beautiful storytelling element to every square.
