Stitch the Fairy Village Quilt with Me This Fall

The Fairy Village Quilt is this month’s featured quilt pattern in the Sew A Story Pattern Club, and I’m so excited to share it with you.

This quilt is made up of nine house blocks that come together to create a cozy, storybook village. Each house features sweet details like rooftops, windows, doors, and even stars in the sky. It’s a project that invites you to slow down and enjoy the rhythm of stitching one block at a time.

I designed this quilt using my Thimbelina and the Sewing Fairies  fabric collection for Riley Blake Designs. These prints include soft florals, scattered fairies, and coordinating textures that make each house feel like part of a magical world.

A Seasonal Twist with Halloween-Inspired Blocks

To show how versatile this pattern can be, I also stitched a few sample house blocks using the Little Witch fabric collection. These blocks give the village a Halloween-inspired twist with playful purples, candy prints, and striped rooftops.

You can create your full quilt in Thimbelina, try a seasonal version, or even mix and match to reflect a story of your own.

What You’ll Learn

The quilt finishes at 62 ½" by 71 ½" and is built from traditionally pieced units. You’ll gain confidence with stitch and flip corners, half-square triangles, and assembling rows with variation across the blocks.

Each house tells its own story, and you’ll see your quilt grow one small step at a time.

October Bonus: Matching Game Printable

Inside the Pattern Club this month, I’ve also included a printable matching game that pairs with the Fairy Village theme. There are two versions — one fairy-themed and one with a Halloween twist.

Just print two copies, cut out the cards, and use them as a playtime activity, storytelling tool, or handmade gift extra.
