Strippy Spools Sew Along – Week 1

Let’s Sew the First Two Blocks

The sew along officially begins today, and I’m starting with the first two Strippy Spools blocks using my Created With Love fabric collection. These playful spool shapes come together quickly using simple piecing and strip units, which makes them a great way to ease into the project.

A Quick Tip Before You Sew

Press your strip sets before trimming, especially for the thread and bobbin sections. Even small distortions can add up over time, so take a moment to check your seam allowance and square up the edges before assembling the full block.

You will be building three different units: bobbin, thread, and spool. Then you will combine them to form the complete block. The pattern walks through each section step by step.

This week is about finding your rhythm, testing your layout, and enjoying the process.
