Strippy Spools Sew Along β Week 3
Piecing with Confidence and Consistency
Welcome to Week 3 of the sew along. By now, you have likely settled into your process and are seeing your stack of spool blocks grow. This is a good week to focus on consistency in pressing, trimming, and piecing so your blocks are easy to work with when it is time to assemble the quilt.
This Week’s Tip
Before you start piecing today, take a moment to check your seam allowance. Sewing with a consistent seam throughout your blocks will help everything align more easily in the final layout.
You can test this by sewing a few scrap pieces together and measuring across the unit. A quarter-inch seam that holds steady block after block helps your quilt come together more smoothly.
Share Your Progress
As your blocks come together, I would love to see how your quilt is shaping up. Tag @sewastory_jenniferlong and @fatquartershop and use #FQSStrippySpoolsQuilt when you post.
You are doing great. Keep going.
