Strippy Spools Sew Along – Week 6

Assembling the Quilt Top

We’ve made it to the stage where all your blocks start coming together. This week is focused on laying out your finished blocks, sewing them into rows, and assembling the full quilt top.

Whether you’ve planned a specific color layout or are letting the design unfold as you go, this part is always so rewarding.

This Week’s Tip

Press seams in alternating directions when joining rows. This helps the seams nest neatly and makes the quilt top lie flatter. Take your time pinning at key intersections, especially where bobbin or spool corners meet.

If your blocks were made with consistent seam allowances, this step should feel smooth and satisfying.

Share Your Progress

Seeing your quilt top come together is such an exciting step. I would love to see your layout in progress or your rows coming together. Tag @sewastory_jenniferlong and @fatquartershop and use #FQSStrippySpoolsQuilt when you share.

We’re getting close. Keep going at your own pace and enjoy the process.
