Welcome to Week 3 of the Thimbelina Felt Panel Sew-Along. This week is all about setting the stage for Thimbelina’s adventures as we create her beautiful storybook world.
Now that Thimbelina herself is complete, it is time to bring her surroundings to life. You will be stitching, assembling, and decorating the backdrop or play scene that will hold her story.
This Week’s Focus
Work on the background panels and any additional felt pieces that form Thimbelina’s world. Add textures, trims, or embellishments to make the scene feel full of life and wonder.
Here’s what to do this week:
- Cut and sew the felt background pieces.
- Assemble and stitch the storybook setting or play scene.
- Add decorative details to the background such as hand embroidery or trims.
- Begin attaching any movable or interactive felt pieces, if desired.
Tips for Success
- Keep your pieces flat as you sew to maintain smooth seams.
- Use small stitches when attaching detailed parts of the background.
- If you are adding Sparkle Paste or embellishments, apply them after stitching is complete.
This is the week where your project truly begins to tell its story. Take your time, enjoy the process, and let your imagination guide you.
