 Let’s Sew the Toys & Joys Block

This week’s block delivers a sleigh full of cheer. The Toys & Joys Block features a patchwork sleigh loaded with presents, ribbons, stars, and even a festive bow. It brings together everything we love about the season; cozy textures, classic shapes, and just the right amount of sparkle.

There’s a lot to piece this week, but each section is straightforward and rewarding. From bows to runner rails, each part adds character and movement to the sleigh.

Helpful Reminders Before You Start

• Pay attention to orientation. Units like the sleigh front and runners include angled seams that need to face in specific directions. Keep your diagrams nearby while you sew.
  
• Trim carefully. This block includes hourglass and half square triangle units, which benefit from accurate trimming to size.
  
• Enjoy the mix of shapes. Between the stars, bows, and blocks of color, this is a great time to play with contrast and layout.
  

Once finished, your Toys & Joys Block will measure 21 1/2” x 22 1/2” (unfinished).
